ROSS Synergy Sdn Bhd recently conducted a Fire Drill Exercise at its headquarters in KK Times Square, Kota Kinabalu, with the participation of all employees.
The exercise began with a pre-drill briefing to highlight the importance of emergency preparedness, reinforce awareness of the company’s HSE Plan, and ensure compliance with the requirements of ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
The drill provided an opportunity for employees to practise and reinforce key emergency response procedures, including:
🔹 Remaining calm and alert during an emergency
🔹 Understanding and following the designated escape routes
🔹 Using the staircase safely and holding the handrails during evacuation
🔹 Proceeding to the designated assembly point
🔹 Understanding the responsibilities of the Office Fire Wardens
🔹 Conducting a headcount to ensure all personnel have been safely evacuated
🔹 Declaring a stand-down once the drill is completed and the situation is confirmed safe
Beyond compliance, the exercise serves as an important platform to educate employees, strengthen emergency preparedness, and build confidence in responding appropriately to potential emergency situations.
